For over four decades, Dr. Kenneth Fried has been bringing quality dental care to Merrillville. He has had the opportunity to help thousands of patients protect their smiles, and he is proud to have worked with multiple generations of families. His job has allowed him to make a lot of good friends, and he always looks forward to showing new patients why our dental practice is a trusted staple of the Merrillville community.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Kenneth has had a strong fascination with science and business ever since he was a child, and he has always enjoyed helping people. When discussing his future with his college friends, he ultimately realized that dentistry was the perfect combination of his interests. He’s incredibly grateful to his friends for helping him make that decision!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Kenneth achieved his undergraduate degree at Illinois State University before studying dentistry at the University of Illinois. He has kept himself up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry by attending continuing education courses through organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. He has also earned a certification as a ClearCorrect provider.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Kenneth met his wife Marilyn in his hometown of Chicago. They had two children together (including Dr. David, another dentist at United Dental Centers of Merrillville), and today they live in Dyer. Dr. Kenneth loves getting involved with his community and has previously served on the boards of a number of local organizations, including the East Side Lions Club, the American Cancer Society, and the East Side Chamber of Commerce. When he has free time on the weekends, he likes to go boating. He’s also a big sports fan and will happily cheer on any teams from Chicago.
